Ingredients
500 g ground beef
1 garlic
1/2 tsp ground onion
1/2 cup bread crumbs (20 g)
1 Tbsp milk
1 egg
4 Tbsp parmiggiano reggiano
1 Tbsp fresh chopped basil
salt
black pepper

1 small chopped onion
1/2 cup red wine (90 ml)
500 g tomato purée
1/2 cup water (90 ml)

Steps
- In a large bowl mix together all of the meatball ingredients (garlic, ground onion, bread crumbs, milk, egg, parmigiana, fresh basil, salt and pepper.
Once everything combined, add the ground beef and mix together with your bare hands for best results.
Shape the meat into balls form (desired size), and don’t press it so hard otherwise they won’t come out juicy


- Coat a large skillet with olive oil and bring to a medium-high heat
Put the meatballs, cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and set aside.

- Add the onions into the same skillet and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes. Pour the red wine and let them evaporated for 1-2 minutes. Pour the tomato puree and water. Season with salt, pepper and sugar to taste.
- Gently place the meatballs back in the skillet and covered with the sauce. Turn the heat down to low and simmer for about an hour. Stir the meatballs frequently.
- Serve the meatball with pasta, rice or even you can serve it as snack.
