175 ml milk
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg yolks

This Vanilla sauce is similar to Crème Anglaise. It's simple and perfect to serve anytime with any type of dessert.

Vanilla sauce

this homemade vanilla sauce can be poured as a topping over chocolate ice cream, cakes or fruits. All what you need for this marvelous sauce is sugar, milk, egg yolk, vanilla extract and cornstarch. It has smooth creamy texture and so easy to make.

Mix all the ingredients : sugar, milk, cornstarch, vanilla extract and the egg yolk in a sauce pan.
Put on over medium heat and stir for about 5-7 minutes.

Remove from the heat and directly cover the surface with waxed paper to prevent a skin forming.
It can be served warm or cold.
Move to a jar, cover tightly and store it in the fridge for a coupe of days.
