2 egg whites
a pinch of salt
100 g sugar
1/2 tsp cornstarch
some drops of food coloring (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 100°C and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place egg whites in a small bowl, then let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Using an electric mixer or a stand mixer beat egg whites on low speed until foamy.
Increase the speed to high and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form for about 5-8 minutes.

- Add the cornstarch to binding the meringue.
If desired, divide batter in half and fold in or beat shortly with two different food coloring.

- Place the meringue mixture in a pastry bag with desired tip and pipe out your kisses onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake at 100°C for about 35-40 minutes or until firm to the touch.
Immediately remove to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container.
