This Homemade caramel sauce is perfect for ice cream, cakes, pie and any other dessert.

Ingredients

  • 100 g sugar

  • 50 ml water

  • 150 ml heavy cream (room temperatur)

  • 1 Tbsp butter (unsalted)

  • a pinch of salt

Steps

  • In a sauce pan, Boil the sugar, salt and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar have form clumps and eventually melt into a thick brown (amber-colored). Be careful not to burn.
  • Pour carefully the heavy cream (room temperature). Cook and let the sauce cook until thick.
  • Remove from the heat and directly add the unsalted butter into the saucepan. Mix it all together until the butter melting. Cover the caramel sauce and let it cool down. You can serve it warm or cold.
