This Vanilla sauce is similar to Crème Anglaise. It’s simple and perfect to serve anytime with any type of dessert.

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp sugar

  • 175 ml milk

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 egg yolks

Steps

  • Mix all the ingredients : sugar, milk, cornstarch, vanilla extract and the egg yolk in a sauce pan. Put on over medium heat and stir for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and directly cover the surface with waxed paper to prevent a skin forming. It can be served warm or cold. Move to a jar, cover tightly and store it in the fridge for a coupe of days.
