220 g white rice
1 clove garlic
2 shallot
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp turmeric
200 ml coconut milk
250 ml water
1 bay leaf
1 lime leaf
1 lemongrass
1 tsp butter

Yellow rice

Yellow rice

I love rice so much, but sometimes only plain white rice make me want to try another recipe. Especially if i cook some Indonesian or Indian food, this yellow rice is very suitable. Crush the garlic, shallot, salt and ground turmeric with mortar and pestle or food processor.

Heat the butter in a big pot over medium-high heat.
Add the washed white rice, coconut milk, water, lemon grass, dried bay leaf, lime leaf and the garlic mixture.
Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for another 15 minutes or until rice is tender.
Set aside and covered for 5 minutes to steam.
Serve the yellow rice with any type of meat or chicken.
