Aromatic white rice cooked with coconut milk and turmeric is very tasteful.

Ingredients

  • 220 g white rice

  • 1 clove garlic

  • 2 shallot

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 200 ml coconut milk

  • 250 ml water

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 lime leaf

  • 1 lemongrass

  • 1 tsp butter

Steps

  • garlic mixture: Crush the garlic, shallot, salt and ground turmeric with mortar and pestle or food processor.

  • Heat the butter in a big pot over medium-high heat. Add the washed white rice, coconut milk, water, lemon grass, dried bay leaf, lime leaf and the garlic mixture. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for another 15 minutes or until rice is tender. Set aside and covered for 5 minutes to steam. Serve the yellow rice with any type of meat or chicken.
