German fried cheese balls – Quarkbällchen

minutesQuark is a type of fresh dairy product. It usually translated as curd cheese or cottage cheese.
Ingredients
500 g quark
200 g sugar
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
4 egg
500 g flour
15 g baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 L vegetable oil
1 tsp cinnamon
100 g sugar
Steps
- In a large bowl, mix the quark, sugar, vanilla extract.
Put slowly and whisk the egg one by one.
Add the flour, salt and baking powder into the quark mixture and mix all until well-combined.


- Preheat the oil to 180°C. Meanwhile mix together 100 g sugar and a teaspoon of cinnamon, then set aside.
- Use an ice cream scoop or table spoons to shape the dough into balls. Put the ball-dough into the hot oil and deep fry for about 5-8 minutes or until all sides brown.
- Remove the quark balls onto paper towels to drain the excess oil.
Roll directly the hot quark balls in cinnamon sugar mixture.
