German Spritz Cookies
known as Spritzgebäck are a classic butter cookie and very popular in Germany. They are made of butter, sugar, eggs, flour. In this recipe, I use ground hazelnut to give a nutty taste. The cookies are crisp and buttery. The German word spritzen means to squirt in English. As the name implies, these cookies are made and shape by pushing the dough through a meat grinder with cookie attachment or using a piping nozzle. Spritzgebäck is often served during Christmas season, but they can be enjoyed also all year round. Find more Christmas cookies recipes here
